Two Tennessee communities rank among top 50 Trump donors

Two Tennessee zip codes rank among the top 50 in the U.S. in amount of donations given to President Donald Trump. 

Brentwood zip code 37027 came in at number 29, with 1,736 donations for a total of $198,279. The average donation in 37027 was $114.. Green Hills zip code 37215  ranked 24th, with 825 donors contributing a total of $220,140 and an average per donor of $266.  

Stacker, a data journalism company, analyzed Federal Election Commission reports for the first two quarters of 2020 of contributions to both Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden to compile the data. 

No Tennessee zip codes were among the top 50 to donate to Biden.

Stacker’s research showed that Biden and Trump have a similar number of contributors, Biden has received more money from his top 50 zip codes. Trump’s top zip code, in Palm Beach, Florida, accounted for $479,420 for the first half of 2020 while Biden’s, in Chevy Chase, Maryland, accounted for just over $1 million. 

Trump’s two biggest states by donations were Texas and Florida, while Biden’s were California and Maryland.
